Using election data for voter education and advancing electoral reforms in Uganda
Sensitise Uganda with support from International Republican Institute (IRI) is implementing a project that uses past election data to conduct voter education especially for the by elections and advance electoral reforms in Uganda. The project specifically seeks to;-
- To conduct voter education using the Uganda elections data portal during by elections in Uganda.
- To propose fundamental electoral reforms in Uganda.
The project uses the Uganda Elections Data Portal (UEDP) to conduct voter education trainings especially for the by elections. Sensitise Uganda will consult a wide range of electoral stakeholders and develop a position paper with key proposed electoral reforms which will be submitted to the Electoral Commission, Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and Parliament of Uganda. The electoral reforms will mainly be informed by the past election data simplified through our Uganda Elections Data Portal (UEDP).
